Job Description
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-driven specialist to support our accounting & financial operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and business performance analysis, has ability to manage tasks independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Perform ongoing accounting tasks.
* Invoices payment management.
* Assistance with monthly and annual financial statements.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
* Support the planning and control cycle, including budget preparation, forecast updates, and variance analysis.
* Collaborating with departments to improve financial performance and cost control.
* Maintain and improve financial databases and systems.
* Serve as a contact for banks and other financial institutions.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Accomplished Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
* Confident and experienced user of BMD accounting software
* Solid knowledge of Austrian and EU VAT regulations, including practical experience in tax accounting and filing of tax returns
* Experience in accounting for fixed assets, domestic and international purchases, and supplier transactions.
* Ability to execute domestic and international payments; familiarity with internet banking and online purchasing processes.
* Skilled in preparing financial statements and accompanying disclosures.
* Strong and systematic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
* Fluent in German & English, based in Linz or the surrounding area.
* Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and handle new tasks as needed.
* High stress resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
* Strong punctuality, self-organization, diligence, and attention to detail (including self-review).
* Readiness to work in an international, fast-paced, start-up environment.
