Responsibilities
* Assess current procurement processes and collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and strategic priorities
* Work in very close collaboration with the local Austrian Managing Director to actively support sales and business development initiatives and to help build and scale Interpath Advisory’s presence in Austria
* Engage with potential new clients, building trusted relationships and identifying new opportunities across the Austrian market
* Demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial spirit, taking ownership beyond project delivery and contributing proactively to the growth, visibility and market positioning of the Austrian platform
* Identify improvement opportunities by analysing bottlenecks, inefficiencies, cost drivers, and risks across procurement, logistics, planning, and distribution
* Implement cost‑effective procurement strategies that ensure compliance in addition to a positive impact on EBITDA, working capital & operational KPIs
* Conduct supplier evaluations including contributing to negotiations, managing contracts including benchmarking against best practices to support ongoing supplier performance management
* Communicate with stakeholders and articulate procurement value to supply chain leadership and prepare reports, forecasts, and spend analyses to inform strategic decision‑making
* Represent Interpath’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) Procurement at procurement roundtables, industry forums and external events, acting as a credible ambassador and thought leader for the firm
* Support large‑scale change management transformation initiatives, including organisational restructuring, acquisition integration, and readiness planning for operational disruptions
The Assistant Manager in the Procurement Consulting team will have the opportunity to partake in business development and marketing activities and events. They will also expand their knowledge and experience by working with Managing Directors on additional topics along the value chain for clients, and contribute to the development of the Procurement Consulting service offering to strengthen Interpath’s market presence within the Value Creation marketplace.
Qualifications
* Strong academic background, combined with hands‑on experience in procurement consulting and project management
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to multiple projects and on‑site teams while assuming responsibility for cost control and implementation outcomes
* Possess a consulting toolkit including experience in change management, stakeholder alignment & training
* Commercial understanding including the P&L impact of procurement improvements
* Good category knowledge including category‑specific market dynamics, key suppliers, cost drivers, and negotiation levers
* Familiarity with eProcurement/P2P Systems, spend analytics tools & data visualization
* Excellent business development skills including support for pitch decks & proposal content build in addition to upselling and cross‑sell opportunities during delivery
* Fluent proficiency in German and English (C1) required; additional European languages such as French or Spanish are advantageous
* Willingness to work on client sites across Germany, the EU, and internationally
