Position
Director of Business Development & Key Account Management (BD&KAM)
In this role you will primarily execute the contract manufacturing business strategy of Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence™ with a focus on acquisition of new mammalian products in the EU market. You will drive the mammalian customer and product portfolio refreshment and expansion by screening, developing, and managing new accounts in the mammalian arena, and represent the business externally at global conferences and events.
Hybrid setup with approximately 2 days per week on site.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Scout and screen potential new EU accounts and products, engaging in high-level company contact and extensive networking across various channels.
Serve as the primary contact for new accounts.
Lead the execution of the BioXcellence acquisition process.
Collaborate closely with the global BDKAM & Marketing team and other BioXcellence functions and the global biopharma network.
Manage and document account relationships, understand their needs, and act as an account ambassador toward the internal organization.
Requirements
PhD/Master’s degree with longstanding experience in the (bio)pharmaceutical industry in a business function, or in technical operations with a preference for biomanufacturing.
Very good understanding of the Biotech/Pharma market, products, players, and technologies.
Strong business acumen, solid financial, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent networking and relationship skills with clear account focus.
Strong communication and presentation skills, and excellent command of German and English (verbally and written); willingness to travel internationally, around 40%.
