Job Purpose
The role of Senior Event Director is to lead Henley & Partners’ global events strategy and oversee the execution of high‑profile international events. This senior leadership position requires a proven background in global event management, strong team leadership and a focus on delivering exceptional experiences that align with the company’s brand and mission.
Main Responsibilities
* Own and lead the entire lifecycle of international events, from concept development to post‑event reporting, across key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
* Lead and manage a team of Event Managers and coordinate cross‑functional support.
* Design and implement event strategies that reflect the company’s objectives and global positioning.
* Oversee sponsor, stakeholder and partner engagement to ensure alignment and delivery of obligations.
* Supervise the identification, negotiation and contracting of venues and external suppliers.
* Provide executive‑level oversight on speaker management, VIP agendas and delegate experience.
* Maintain full budget ownership and ensure cost control without compromising quality or impact.
* Oversee all branding, messaging and marketing efforts related to global events.
* Establish and monitor KPIs across all planning and execution areas.
* Act as primary point of contact for C‑level executives and key stakeholders.
* Mentor and develop junior team members to ensure continuous growth and high performance.
Requirements
* Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in international event management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Demonstrated success managing large‑scale, high‑level conferences and private events across multiple jurisdictions.
* Prior experience working with HNWIs, government institutions, diplomatic entities or international organisations.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent project management, budget oversight and decision‑making abilities under pressure.
* Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills for senior‑level liaison.
* Full professional fluency in English; other languages are an asset.
* Willingness to travel frequently; must have visa‑free access to Europe, North America and Asia.
* Strategic thinker with a hands‑on mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
* Attention to detail, discretion and professional presentation.
