Job purpose
The Adult Ministry Operations Manager provides essential operational support for adult ministry at MBC Tysons. The Manager works with the Director of Student Ministry and Adults and the Associate Director of Adults to build a community for adults to find and follow Jesus together, specifically focusing on operational and administrative excellence that facilitates a great spiritual environment. The adult ministry is called Citywide. This is a 15-hour per week position.
Duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The Operations Manager’s role involves:
* Coordinating weekly Citywide operations through non-staff leader teams, including a welcome team, logistics team, coaches team, table facilitators team, activities team, and media team
* Planning and executing Citywide events
* Supporting the planning and execution of the MBCYA retreat, working with other MBC Locations
* Under the guidance of both the Director and Associate Director, managing Citywide’s (1) finances and (2) communications and inquiry response
* Providing administrative support for recruiting, training, and appreciating non-staff leaders
* Coordinating with other MBC ministries and teams, such as the Communications and Worship teams
* Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Ministry and Adults
Qualifications
* Must be a committed follower of Jesus with the spiritual maturity to lead others
* Must be or be ready to become a member of McLean Bible Church
* Previous ministry coordination experience, or equivalent marketplace experience
* Must have strong operational management abilities
* Must be able to work independently
* Must have basic technological competence
Working conditions
* The Operations Manager will work some nights and weekends for ministry gatherings, including every Thursday evening.
* The Operations Manager generally works in-person at McLean Bible Church, Tysons Location. The fifteen-hour workweek must include Thursday evenings, but the remaining scheduled hours can be designed around his or her other work and life commitments.
* This position occasionally requires travel, including coordinating weekend retreats for adults. It may also require occasional local travel.
Physical requirements
Must be able to read, speak, and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the Coordinator is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, kneel, and lift. The Coordinator is required to be able to lift and carry items that can weigh 25 pounds or more for short distances. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
