Develop your journalistic skills in science communication at EurAsia
The Cluster of Excellence EurAsian Transformations (COE EurAsia) explores Asia and Europe as a combined landmass in disciplines such as history, linguistics and cultural studies. To share our research outcomes, we are now seeking to strengthen our (social) media team. Together, we produce reels, infotainment posts, YouTube videos, or contact production companies to place our researchers in podcasts, TV and radio shows.
We are looking for a total of two (social) media and content creators (5 hours/week each) for the universities in Innsbruck (UIBK) and Vienna (UNIVIE, CEU) for a period of almost three years, up until the end of the project duration on 30 September 2028.
Your responsibilities:
• Content creation: You will develop creative ideas for posts, stories and reels – from promoting our events to presenting research results in an understandable way in text, images or video.
• Interviews & media production: You will interview our cluster members, moderate in front of the camera or on the microphone, and edit the material into appealing formats.
• YouTube: Together with us, you will establish the EurAsia YouTube channel and fill it with interesting content.
• Networking & visibility: In coordination with the PR departments of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the universities advertising this position, as well as through contacts with existing podcasts, radio or TV shows, you will help to bring our topics to the public's attention and thus increase the visibility of our research.
• Become familiar with our work:
Your profile:
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, diploma or master's degree programme at a university participating in the cluster
• Good knowledge of common social media platforms and practical experience in using them
• Experience with image and video editing programmes, or willingness to learn
• Willingness to learn how to present confidently in front of and behind the camera; Language and dialogue skills in German and English
• Interest in the area of Eurasia with its historical, cultural and linguistic diversity
• Organisational skills, ability to work in a team, flexibility and resilience
• Openness and sensitivity to diversity and inclusion

This is also where the future job holder will be working.
