Automation Specialist (m/w/d) – Sondermaschinen
We are a leading special machine manufacturer realizing complex high‑tech machines and test rigs in Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria. As a Senior Automation Engineer you will lead end‑to‑end automation projects, operate international commissioning, and deliver modern control technology solutions in a challenging, global environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead international automation projects from A to Z: planning, PLC programming, selection and integration of sensors and actuators, control logic, coding and commissioning.
* Develop, adapt and optimise PLC programs, process visualisations and data analyses.
* Conduct FAT and SAT testing directly at international customer sites.
* Coordinate project teams, internal departments and international clients.
* Support creation of technical system specifications.
* Assist in development and optimisation projects.
* Ensure functionality of control logic, sensor and actuator integration.
* Document, report and assure project objectives regarding quality, schedule and customer satisfaction.
* Travel availability of approximately 70 % worldwide – typical commissioning duration 2 weeks, occasionally 3–4 weeks.
Qualifications
* Completed technical education (Lehre, HTL, FH, TU) in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering or similar.
* Some experience in autonomous automation project management is beneficial but not mandatory.
* Strong knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, AWL, FUP, SCL and drive calibration.
* Worldwide travel readiness (≈70 %) and flexibility.
* Drive to quickly adapt to new cultural settings and act effectively.
* Team player with independent work style and high problem‑solving competence.
* High learning motivation for new technologies and systems.
* Good English skills, German at a functional level.

* Gross annual salary €60 000–€75 000, dependent on experience and qualification; flexible salary structure possible.
