Director Consulting (m/w/d) Pharma & Biotech
Location: Milan, Italy
This is a strategic global leadership role at Orise, ideal for a seasoned consulting executive skilled in building, transforming, and scaling organizations. As Director Consulting (m/f/d), you will re‑establish Orise’s global consulting chapter — defining its strategy, building a high‑performing international team, and driving the execution needed to translate vision into measurable results. You will serve as a key strategic partner to the BU VP, combining consulting leadership, operational excellence, and business development across the global Pharma & Biotech ecosystem.
Your responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Global Business Building

Establish and lead a global consulting organization, including operating model, structure, and long‑term roadmap.
Rebuild the consulting portfolio, shaping high‑value offerings that strengthen Orise’s global market position.
Drive global transformation initiatives that enable scalable, efficient, and repeatable consulting delivery.

Operational Excellence & Execution

Translate global divisional strategy into clear operational frameworks to support sustainable growth.
Drive performance through KPIs, productivity initiatives, and continuous process optimization.
Ensure project management excellence across complex, multinational projects with effective resource allocation.
Secure optimal utilization levels and implement consistent operational standards worldwide.

Business Performance & Financial Stewardship

Own operational results, including revenue growth, profitability, margin optimization, and delivery efficiency.
Partner with the BU VP to set strategy, financial milestones, budgets, and performance targets.
Identify and implement opportunities for global scaling through improved processes, automation, and new service models.

Business Development & Stakeholder Engagement

Drive sales and business development in close collaboration with the Global Sales Director.
Build trusted relationships with global clients, partners, and key internal stakeholders.
Act as a strategic advisor on complex transformation and optimization initiatives across the global Pharma & Biotech value chain.
Build and develop a global consulting team, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and customer focus.
Inspire teams through strong leadership presence, clarity, and long‑term vision.
Lead change initiatives that promote agility, collaboration, and operational discipline across regions.

Your profile

Sound senior leadership experience within consulting industry (preferably over 10 years of experience), ideally with significant exposure to the Pharma & Biotech industry, and a strong track record of building and scaling global teams or business units.
Deep expertise in operations management, strategic planning, project management, and change management.
Demonstrated success leading complex, global transformation programs.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and align diverse international teams.
Strong business acumen with experience driving P&L performance.
Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
International experience and strong intercultural competence.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Fluent in Business English.
Willingness to travel (approx. 25%).
