Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Remote from Malta)

We are currently looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in Malta.This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale, global project as a remote, contract-based engineer with flexible hours. You will design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications while collaborating with an international team of engineers. The position allows you to influence system architecture, implement engineering best practices, and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions. With flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work from anywhere within eligible locations, you will make a tangible impact on meaningful projects while working in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment.
Accountabilities:
* Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality full-stack applications.
* Contribute to system architecture design and promote engineering best practices.
* Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following established standards.
* Collaborate with global engineering teams in agile workflows and participate in code reviews.
* Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure performance and reliability.
* Drive improvements in code quality and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements:
* 510 years of experience as a software engineer, with strong expertise in both frontend and backend development.
* Solid understanding of software architecture, testing, debugging, and clean code principles.
* Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating with distributed teams.
* Fluent in English (C1) with excellent communication skills.
* Availability to work 1040 hours per week, with partial overlap with US Pacific Time.
* Permanent authorization to work in Italy or other eligible EU locations.
* Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fully remote, flexible environment.
