Job Description
Do you turn raw data into real impact? Do you see patterns where others see chaos, and opportunities where others see complexity? As a (Senior) Data & AI Engineer, you know that data is more than numbers – it’s the foundation for smarter decisions and real business value. If you’re driven by solving complex challenges, building scalable data solutions, and making an impact beyond the code, then you might be exactly who we’re looking for.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a (Senior) Data & AI Engineer, you:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and data & AI solutions tailored to business needs, including the development of governance structures and access control concepts

Design, implement and optimise robust data pipelines using modern frameworks such as Databricks or similar technologies

Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, including containerisation and orchestration

Act as a trusted technical advisor and sparring partner for our customers

Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful data‑driven solutions

Monitor, optimise and ensure the performance, scalability and reliability of data workflows

Stay up to date with the latest trends in data engineering and apply innovative approaches to solve complex challenges

Who We Are Looking For

5+ years of experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, platforms, and data integration interfaces

Strong expertise in data modelling (e.g. dimensional modelling, normalisation/denormalisation)

Proven experience with cloud‑based data platforms (Azure preferred but experience with AWS or GCP is equally welcome) and tools like Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and architectural patterns such as Medallion

Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with curiosity and openness towards leveraging AI‑assisted stakeholders

Solid software engineering mindset, including experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

A consulting mindset with a customer‑centric approach

Fluency in German (C1 level) and English for stakeholder discussions

Passion for emerging technologies and a continuous learning mindset in the evolving data & AI landscape developments and eagerness to learn about innovative IT solutions

High level of ownership, self‑motivation and the ability to quickly dive into new topics while constructively challenging the status quo

We also believe you have

Valid certifications in Databricks, Microsoft Fabric (and MS Azure) considered a strong advantage

We offer

Professional growth, meaningful projects, open culture, and an outstanding work‑life balance

Access to an extensive international network of industry experts

Opportunity to create the future of a growing, fast‑developing, and important sector

Flexible hybrid work model as part of our culture and way of working

Benefits such as a laptop and smartphone also for private use, health programmes, team events, excellent public transport connection, food vouchers, contribution to the costs of the Austrian “KlimaTicket”, fresh fruits, and a lot more

Finally, we also believe in curiosity and learning as a lifestyle where you need to unlearn and relearn every day as new possibilities emerge

The annual gross salary for this position will start from a monthly gross salary €3.954,- on a full‑time basis (IT collective agreement, ST1 Regelstufe), depending on your qualifications and experience, as well as the type of contract. Our aim is to provide you with a salary package that is both competitive and reflective of your relevant experience, while also aligning with current market standards.

Locations: Austria (Vienna, Linz, Graz), Germany (Berlin, Regensburg or remote from other German locations)
