For the construction of an electric arc furnace in Leoben / Donawitz, we are looking for a
Site Assistant
Responsibilities
Translation & Communication
* Provide real-time verbal and written translations for meetings held on-site, including:
o Scheduled 3-week and 6-week planning reviews
o Daily briefings and impromptu discussions
* Ensure clear communication between local staff, Yard Management, and Field Supervisors as needed
Site Purchasing & Expense Tracking
* Assist the site foreman in managing limited local purchases
* Perform market research, vendor outreach, and sourcing tasks
* Handle receipts and maintain purchase records (excluding financial and bureaucratic responsibilities, which remain with the cardholder or account holder)
Site Logistics Support
* Collaborate with the site manager to coordinate logistical needs
* Support local arrangements and resource planning for operational efficiency
Administrative Secretariat Duties
* Organize documentation, track certifications, and support overall paperwork management
* Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) documentation efforts
* Liaise with Voestalpine to understand their certification process, leveraging insights from past projects such as Linz Casting
Technical Requirements
* Fluent in English, German
* Proven experience in translation, procurement, or administrative coordination
* Strong communication and organizational abilities
* Familiarity with QA/QC workflows and construction environments is a plus
