Responsibilities
Design and develop robust backend solutions using modern Java technologies as part of our platform backend team.
Act as a technical leader within the team, ensuring high-quality code through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
Drive team productivity, ensuring that all team members are effectively engaged and supported in their roles.
Represent the development team in discussions with stakeholders and line management, acting as the primary point of contact.
Facilitate communication and information flow within the team and across departments.
Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
Identify and escalate issues proactively to ensure smooth delivery and team alignment.
Contribute to architectural decisions and the evaluation of new technologies and frameworks.
Profile
Several years of professional experience in Java development, ideally in distributed systems and platform services.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (OpenAPI), secure coding (incl. TLS/certificates & cryptography e.g. encryption, JWT), JUnit and ideally tools like Gradle/Maven, Quarkus, Consul, Traefik, Keycloak, Artemis.
Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, ...)
Proven experience in agile software development and working in cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and align a team.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative working style.
Fluent in English; German is a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 5 %).

Possible start date: immediately
We offer you for this position a monthly minimum gross salary (starting level) of EUR 3.843,00 on a full time basis (38.5 hrs/week). The actual salary is calculated on the basis of previous periods of service, qualification, professional experience and the collective agreement.
