What You Will Contribute:
The Operations Manager will provide both tactical and strategic oversight for Badger Meter manufacturing operations. This position will define, achieve and ensure the operational KPIs within the company. In addition to manufacturing operations, you will provide organizational direction to meet customer requirements, employee engagement and continuous improvement objectives.
As the Operations Manager of our Vienna subsidiary, you will oversee a team of approximately 65 employees and take on direct disciplinary leadership for 25 team members. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the General Manager International Operations. This position requires a dynamic and communicative leader with a hands-on approach and a strong performance-driven mindset.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities to ensure timely production that meets customer and quality specifications.
* Oversee supply, delivery, and installation processes for customer orders.
* Establish and manage production schedules, priorities, and resource allocation to optimize throughput and efficiency.
* Monitor and drive plant performance across all product lines to support financial and operational targets.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
* Develop and execute the facility's continuous improvement plan using data-driven insights and strategic initiatives.
* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across operations and the supply chain.
* Support capital expenditure planning, cost reduction initiatives, and workforce optimization.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, ISO procedures, and corporate compliance standards.
* Champion quality management systems and promote a zero-defect mindset across all teams.
* Maintain and enhance health, safety, and environmental standards, fostering a proactive safety culture.
Team Development & Engagement
* Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
* Coordinate internal and external training programs, especially during product changes or process improvements.
* Promote employee engagement and a culture of operational excellence.
Customer Focus
* Manage post-sales support to ensure timely issue resolution and high customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with customer expectations and service levels.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* Typically requires 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, or industrial engineering.
* Proven experience in manufacturing operations leadership.
* Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, supply chain management, and quality systems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
* Fluent in English and German language
* Travelling Required: 10 %
