Our Player Android team drives the development and evolution of our cutting-edge Kotlin-based video player library — the engine behind video playback in some of the world's most popular apps. Our library enables billions of Android devices across the globe to stream high-quality video content every year. We're looking for engineers who are passionate about clean, maintainable code and thrive on solving complex, real-world problems at scale.
As a Software Engineer Android, you will
* Work with a modern tech stack, including Kotlin, Gradle, Coroutines, Dagger, GitHub Actions, SonarCloud, Kotest, Maestro, and more
* Design and implement high-quality, scalable, and testable code
* Contribute across the entire development lifecycle — from product ideation and architecture to implementation and delivery
* Build new features, enhance existing ones, and troubleshoot complex issues
* Proactively improve code structure and architecture for better maintainability and testability
* Champion code quality through automated testing and thoughtful code reviews (both giving and receiving)
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to keep our solutions cutting-edge
It would be great if you have
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
* Solid Kotlin/Java expertise, with hands-on professional experience in software development and architectural design
* Experience with Git and general development workflows
* A passion for clean code, design patterns, and software craftsmanship — including testing best practices
* Strong analytical thinking and debugging skills
* A proactive mindset with self-awareness and a desire to continuously learn
* Resilience and positivity in the face of challenges or unexpected issues
* A high level of attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
* A strong sense of ownership and urgency when it comes to product quality and delivery
It would be even better if you have
* Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning — especially when venturing into new or unfamiliar territory
* Experience developing SDKs or libraries for external use
* Exposure to (cross-platform) mobile development beyond Android (e.g., iOS, React Native, Flutter)
* Background in video playback, streaming, or multimedia technologies
