Commissioning Manager – Client side - HV Substation
Type: Contract/Freelance - Initial 6 month contract
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning delivery from L2 through to completion on a Hyperscale Data Center. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and resources, ensure technical and safety compliance, and drive smooth, timely project completion.
This position is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys leadership responsibility, structured project environments, and international collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement project-specific commissioning strategies and execution plans
* Manage commissioning programmes, resourcing, progress tracking, and reporting
* Coordinate activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and vendor disciplines
* Liaise with contractors, and internal management teams to maintain progress alignment
* Review and sign off on commissioning documentation, risk assessments, and safety plans
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and technical compliance
* Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution during commissioning
* Ensure thorough documentation and turnover packages for client acceptance
* Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to commissioning engineers and site teams
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on HV Substations
* Degree or equivalent qualification Electrical Engineering
* Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, technical documentation, and safety standards
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Confident managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
* Willingness to travel or rotate across European project locations
* Current right to work within the EU is essential
