Faculty position in Architectural Design
at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
The EPFL School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) invites applications for a position as Associate Professor of Architectural Design within the Institute of Architecture and the City (IA), at a 70% appointment.
We are seeking a candidate who has made significant contributions to the discipline of architecture through built projects and research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a distinctive and critical approach to architectural practice, supported by internationally recognized work (awards, publications, and participation in global discourse) and a strong research portfolio (publications and conference engagements).
In alignment with ENAC’s values, we are particularly interested in practitioners who integrate disciplinary expertise with a deep engagement in social and ecological concerns.
The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and will be expected to conduct innovative research in architectural design, teach design studios at both the Bachelor and Master levels, and particularly a first-year Bachelor studio considered foundational to be taught in French. The candidate will also contribute to studio and course teaching within a collaborative team environment and is expected to actively participate in the broader academic life of the School.
