Tasks
The thesis can, for example, cover one or more of the following aspects:
* Component development and design in the area of mechanical components such as housings, circuits, gears, bearings, and lubrication
* Method development in the areas of strength, vibration, acoustics, kinematics, and materials engineering
* Production support and techniques in the areas of 3D printing, casting, plastics, metal, and composite materials
* Component-related calculations, design, and simulations in the areas of numerics and analytics
* Preferred subject areas and the type of thesis (Bachelor\'s/Master\'s/Diploma) can be stated in the cover letter.
Requirements
* Studies in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automotive engineering, electromobility, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar fields
* Focus: drive technology, design, or similar
* Basic knowledge of gear systems (e.g., kinematics, gearing, bearings, strength, lubrication)
* Very good knowledge of office tools
* Ideally, CAD knowledge in CATIA V5 or knowledge of CAE tools such as ANSYS, PERMAS, ABAQUS, HyperWorks
* Ideally, knowledge of gear design programs such as KISSsoft, MASTA, Romax
* Ideally, programming knowledge in e.g., Matlab, C++
* Language skills: Good knowledge of German and English
* Other / Soft skills: Independent and structured working style; high motivation and ability to work in a team
