Community Kinders Plus (CKP) is seeking a dynamic and values-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our not-for-profit early years organisation through its next phase of strategic growth and sector influence. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in early childhood education while driving innovation, partnership, and sustainable operations.
About CKP
CKP is a trusted Early Years Manager delivering high-quality kindergarten programs to over 1,500 children across 27 sites in the Frankston, Mornington Peninsula, and Kingston local government areas. We partner closely with families, local councils, the Department of Education, and community organisations to create safe, inclusive, and vibrant learning environments.
Our 2024–2026 Strategic Plan sets a clear direction: to continue raising the standard in early childhood education through educational excellence, a thriving workforce, strong governance, and purposeful growth.
The Opportunity
* As CEO, you will be the key leader responsible for:
* Delivering CKP’s Strategic Plan in partnership with the Board
* Leading a skilled and committed Leadership Team across finance, HR, operations, and pedagogy
* Building a thriving organisational culture that prioritises staff wellbeing and child safety
* Strengthening relationships with families, government, councils, and sector stakeholders
* Ensuring financial sustainability through sound budgeting, risk management, and performance oversight
* Driving CKP’s Early Years Management (EYM) Growth Plan and identifying new opportunities for sustainable service delivery
This role is ideal for a leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution, and who thrives in a community-centred environment where impact and values go hand in hand.
Key Selection Criteria
* We are seeking an experienced executive who brings:
* A successful track record in senior leadership, preferably in early childhood, education, health, or not-for-profit sectors
* Strong governance and financial acumen, including budgeting, compliance, and strategic reporting to a Board
* A demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and foster a values-based, inclusive culture
* Experience working with or within government, local councils, and regulatory environments
* A commitment to advocacy, equity, reconciliation, and community engagement
* Commercial acumen and experience managing growth in a sustainable, mission-aligned way
Qualifications and Checks
* Tertiary qualifications in education, management, business, community services or a related discipline
* Working with Children Check and Police Check (or ability to obtain)
* Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
