Your Responsibilities
* Work on a doctoral thesis in the field of Ancient history
* Independent research in the field of Ancient history, particularly Roman history
* Contribution to current research projects in Ancient history and epigraphy
* Assistance with the department's publishing activities and within the framework of the research project “International Graduate School” (IGS)
* Participation in the organization and implementation of various event formats, as well as in the department’s public relations work
Your Profile
* A diploma or master’s degree in Ancient history or history with a focus on Roman history, completed with above-average grades
* Preliminary work on a relevant research project in Roman history focusing on Ancient geography and/or Latin epigraphy/prosopography
* Publishing in international journals and series (desirable)
* Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English (min. C1 or higher)
* Very good IT skills and experience in working with databases and website maintenance (desirable)
* High level of commitment and motivation for scientific work
* Knowledge in planning and organising of academic conferences (desirable)
* Independent working style and high level of initiative
* Strong teamwork and organizational skills
