The Field Applications Specialist (FAS) based in Austria is responsible to provide excellent customer service to clients while installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation and systems in hospital and stand‑alone laboratory environments. This position is part of the DACH Field Application Team; as FAS you will be located in Austria, preferably within the St. Pölten, Wien (Vienna) areas, supporting our local and DACH customers and impacting patients’ health and overall well‑being.
As a member of the Field Applications Specialist Team you will report to the Field Application Manager. Your responsibilities include providing frontline support by resolving customer problems and issues through technical, scientific expertise and troubleshooting. You will help drive revenue growth while ensuring strong customer contract retention rates and warranty conversion. Use critical thinking to resolve application issues, train our customers, verify the operational performance and data quality of systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

* Maintain customer support logs and internal records promptly, resolve issues to deliver a high‑quality Customer Experience.
* Develop commercial awareness through cross‑functional support of the business to increase growth opportunities and demonstrate to our customers our pioneering innovation solutions and new products for the market.
The essential requirements of the job include:
* University scientific degree.
* At least one year of experience within the clinical laboratory diagnostics environment, with a solid familiarity with its processes, technologies, and industry dynamics.
* Fluent in German and English.
* Ability to interact with customers on a detailed scientific basis to ensure customer needs are fulfilled.
* Ability to travel and provide service in the assigned geography, as well as periodic travel to other areas and overnight travel, with flexible hours as per business needs.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
* Requirement to travel within Austria and the EMEA region (up to 90% Austria, 30% DACH, and a maximum of 5% rest of EMEA) to support customers using your technical expertise with overnight stays (up to 50%) as needed.
* Hold a current valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Associates who drive Beckman Coulter vehicles will follow the Danaher Company Vehicle Policy.
FAS operate independently within their geographic territory; however, we operate as a team to share standard methodologies, mentor, and receive expert technical support. The role is classified as a remote worker, provided with a company car, mobile phone, and laptop.

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is €70,000 in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on your qualifications and relevant professional experience, we naturally offer a significantly higher salary.
