Head of Electronics and Embedded Systems (f/m/x)
What you'll work on:
Strategic Leadership
* Oversee software and hardware development, architecture, infrastructure, and data management
* Build, lead, and mentor technology teams, defining roles and career development paths
* Prioritize R&D projects and monitor product development timelines to ensure on‑time delivery
* Develop and manage vendor relationships
* Represent the technology function in executive meetings and public events
Hands‑on Technical Execution
* Personally contribute to building products from scratch, moving from concept to functional prototype
* Actively participate in writing embedded code, designing schematics, and refining PCB layouts
* Lead the "fast‑moving" approach by personally assembling and testing early‑stage hardware iterations
* Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable system architectures from the ground up
* Perform hands‑on board bring‑up and use lab equipment to troubleshoot complex signal or power issues
* Ensure all developments comply with technology laws (GDPR) and manage verification/validation procedures
Collaboration & Market Fit
* Collaborate with other departments on technical feasibility and support product‑market fit.
* Act as the technical point of contact for key B2B customers and enterprise partners.
* Lead hiring decisions to ensure the team possesses the right technical capabilities and culture fit.
What you bring:
* Proven track record in leading development teams and hiring/mentoring technical talent
* Extensive experience in system architecture design with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
* You have built or significantly contributed to an MVP and have experience building products from scratch
* Strong knowledge of Lean Startup principles, rapid prototyping, and Agile planning
* Skilled in Requirement and System Architecture Management, verification and validation procedures, and risk management
* Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
* High level of ownership, pragmatic problem‑solving skills, and a product‑first mindset

Salary
The actual minimum salary is 4,485 EUR gross per month (on a 38.5‑hour basis), the actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience. The salary is paid 14 times per year. The collective agreement Informationstechnologie, Datenverarbeitung (IT) applies. We're willing to overpay depending on your experience and skills.
