Your new adventure
The Experienced Designer contributes to the development, validation, and optimization of components and modules within complex systems. The role has a direct impact on project delivery, engineering change implementation (ECR), and overall product quality, supporting Rotax’s business objectives and engineering strategy.
1. Scope & Impact
1. Contribute to the design of individual components and system modules.
2. Deliver assigned work packages on time, meeting functional, manufacturing, and cost requirements.
3. Support project milestones and engineering change processes (ECR), directly influencing project success and deadlines.
2. Execution
4. Design parts and system modules and contribute to related engineering processes (e.g. quotations, Bills of Materials, documentation).
5. Independently execute assigned work packages or, in coordination with the FPL Design role, request external design support when required.
6. When external design resources are involved, oversee and support the assigned external designers throughout the work package execution.
7. Escalate to higher levels only in the case of non-standard or complex issues.
3. Problem Solving & Collaboration
8. Develop and implement solutions to technical problems within the assigned scope of responsibility. Apply engineering judgment to resolve design-related challenges efficiently.
9. Share expertise and best practices related to design software and tools (e.g. CAD, SAP) with other designers.
10. Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and design consistency.
11. Review and validate drawings and system designs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
12. Ensure designs meet Rotax engineering guidelines and applicable standards.
Your skills and experiences:
13. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design within complex systems.
14. Strong experience designing components and system modules, from concept to validation and release.
15. Proficient in CAD tools (Creo, Windchill); experience with BOM management in SAP.
16. Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost constraints;
17. Able to work independently under general guidance, solve design-related technical issues, and support external design resources when needed.
18. Collaborative team player with a strong focus on quality, standards, and on-time delivery.
We offer
You will be offered an exciting position in an with many and diverse development opportunities. The minimum salary for this position is EUR 48,.87 gross/year in accordance with the collective agreement for the metal industry. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, we offer an attractive and performance-related salary with corresponding overpayment.
