Financial Controller – Malta (H/F)
As the Financial Controller, you will be reporting directly to the CFO and you will be preparing monthly management statements in a timely manner to allow the review of the company’s financial performance.
Some of the principal missions are
1. Actively leading the preparation of the yearly budget and regular forecasts together with other department Managers and the CFO.
2. Preparing of cash flows, VAT returns, and financial information relative to upcoming and existing projects or business opportunities.
3. Acting as the first line of contact for the external auditors to ensure a prompt and accurate preparation of the statutory audit.
4. Ensuring the timely monitoring of debtors, credit control and effective reporting to the Group CFO and senior management as required.
5. You will support the accounts staff with daily monitoring of cash settlements and accounts receivables and motivate and lead the members of the finance team on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
6. ACCA qualification or equivalent
7. 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
8. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook);
9. Experience in the retail, commercial or hospitality (restaurant or hotels) industry preferred.
10. General understanding of accounting practices and principles;
11. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information;
12. Knowledge of finance, budgeting, and cost control principles;
13. In-depth knowledge of all accounting functions;
14. Analytical and problem solving skills;
15. Effective written and verbal communication skills;
16. Time and stress management skills;
17. Have an ability to demonstrate sound work ethics.
18. Experience in Malta is a must (regulation; financial institution systems; etc)
Position based in Malta.
Salary: €45,000 - €50,000 basic - depending on experience.
