Are you passionate about communications and event organization and eager to apply your creative skills in a dynamic international organization? The Section for Safeguards Programme Coordination is seeking a Communications Intern to join its team and contribute to a range of initiatives.
As an intern, you would have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and develop your skills through a range of interesting and diverse tasks, including the production and delivery of communication products.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1. Assist with the planning, organization and execution of both departmental and Agency-wide events and associated communication aspects.
2. Create drafts of communication products for departmental communication initiatives, as assigned by members of the SG Communication Team.
3. Participate in the Department of Safeguards' Communication Working Group and act as a liaison for divisional communication representatives, as appropriate.
4. Design content for digital communication materials within the Department of Safeguards.
5. Identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the Department of Safeguards' communication products.
Qualifications and Experience
6. University Degree in Communication, journalism, public relations, international relations or a related field.
7. Experience in writing and editing texts in English.
8. Skills in graphic design and layout.
9. Skills in survey design and analysis is an asset.
10. Knowledge of technical fields of relevance to nuclear verification is an asset.
Applicant Eligibility
11. Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
12. Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
13. Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
14. Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.
15. Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
