Your Role
As a Senior Staff Engineer Ion Trap Development, you will work within our Research & Development team to merge creativity with technical expertise, shaping the future of technology and driving groundbreaking projects.
Key Responsibilities
Drive technology development for trapped‑ion quantum processors, with a focus on scaling toward very large chips.
Co‑develop the next generations of QPUs with commercial partners.
Enable the research community through projects with academic partners.
Lead the industrialization of trapped‑ion quantum processors and advance their integration into multichip quantum processing units (QPUs).
Supervise master and PhD students.
Your Profile
Qualifications and Skills
PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Computational Physics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, quantum optics, and/or trapped‑ion quantum computing.
A self‑driven, enthusiastic mindset with the dedication to turn the promise of quantum computing into practical reality.
Fluency in English. German language skills or willingness to learn are a plus.
Compensation
The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year and is higher depending on expertise and skills.
