Your responsibilities The Communications Team at ISTA strives to be a pioneer in institutional science communication. Through a variety of internal and external channels, the team shares inspiring stories about ISTA's scientists and their research, increasing the Institute's visibility both locally and globally. To support the team during a period of parental leave, we are looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join us for 14 months. The position involves managing key communication projects, particularly in the field of digital marketing and editing. Working in close collaboration with the team lead, you will help ensure smooth day-to-day operations, steer the implementation of major initiatives, and act as a sparring partner in shaping ISTA's communication. Your main responsibilities will include: * Lead the project management of the Institute's new website, acting as the central point of contact between internal stakeholders and an external agency to align requirements and ensure timely delivery * Support the Communications team lead and drive the implementation of communication projects across different departments and for diverse internal and external audiences * Coordinate multi-channel communication campaigns, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with strategic goals * Contribute to the development of communication concepts and storytelling strategies, helping shape how ISTA presents its research and institutional identity across platforms Your profile * Completed higher education in a relevant field (e.g., Media Studies, Public Relations/Corporate Communication, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or similar) * Several years of proven communications experience * Solid project management skills, ideally with experience leading complex communication projects * Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is advantageous * High affinity for science and its communication across a channel portfolio * Confident in storytelling and developing audience-specific editorial content for diverse platforms * Strong team player with excellent organizational skills * High degree of hands-on mentality and service orientation * Open, inclusive, and sensitive communication Apply now Your benefits * Education & training * Cafeteria * Childcare * Free shuttle bus * Multiple health offers * Pension insurance This position comes with possible overpayment depending on education, qualification and work experience.
