As we continue to grow our talented nursing community, we are seeking an experienced, hands‑on, registered Nurse and leader, who is passionate about both exceptional client care and empowering nurses through real, practical clinical education. This is a key Executive Leadership Team role and it's one for a clinician who still loves being close to the work.
About the Role
Reporting to and working closely with our Chief Medical Officer and in‑house medical team, you will provide strategic clinical leadership while remaining genuinely connected to our participants and nursing workforce. This is not an entirely desk‑bound role – you will be visible on the floor of our homes, building trusting relationships with participants and their families, and delivering meaningful, hands‑on clinical education to our growing team of nurses and disability support workers.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic clinical leadership in close collaboration with the CMO and our in‑house Doctor team, leveraging our Doctor‑led model to deliver best‑in‑class participant outcomes.
Champion a culture of genuine, person‑centred care – being a visible, trusted clinical presence for participants, families, and the wider care team.
Design and deliver hands‑on clinical education programs that build real capability across our support staff and nursing team, from safe onboarding of new participants through to ongoing skill development.
Embed current best‑practice, evidence‑based care across all clinical interactions and support workers' practice.
Oversee clinical governance frameworks, risk management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Provide Executive Leadership Team and Board‑level reporting on clinical outcomes, risks, and quality indicators.
Be the confident, credible clinical face of Maxlife Care for participants, families, and external stakeholders – demonstrating that we have the right systems, people, and medical backing to manage complex clinical and behavioural needs.
Travel across our 40+ sites – Newcastle and the Central Coast, Sydney metro, Wollongong and Nowra – supporting more than 80 clients, with more to come on board.
About You
A genuinely experienced clinician – you haven't lost touch with what great client care looks like, and you bring that into everything you do.
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner, with a minimum of five years' post‑registration experience in complex or high‑needs clinical environments.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing nursing teams, ideally within NDIS, disability, aged or community care, or other complex care settings.
Strong capability managing complex clinical and behavioural presentations.
Experience in clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement.
A passion for clinical learning & education – you love bringing nurses along on the learning journey and find real satisfaction in growing the people around you.
Comfortable working alongside and collaborating with medical practitioners as part of a Doctor‑led multidisciplinary team.
