About the Role
The Rate Optimization Analyst (ROA) plays a vital role within the Audit organization at Loop, supporting the accurate and efficient interpretation, validation, testing, and maintenance of carrier rates and terms. This role requires curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement in rate automation processes.
First and foremost, the ROA will be assigned clients, carriers, or modes where Loop is not meeting its KPIs in auditing and rating. As a change agent, the ROA will work closely with the assigned auditor to identify issues, determine corrective actions, and outline the steps required to resolve them. Once a plan is in place, the ROA is responsible for ensuring audit commitments are fulfilled. If commitments are not met, the ROA will escalate the situation for further action.
In a secondary capacity, the ROA will serve as a direct audit resource for assigned clients, ensuring not only accurate audits but also fostering collaborative partnerships built on trust and transparency. New employees entering this role from outside Loop will begin with responsibilities aligned to this secondary function until they are fully up to speed.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret, validate, and test rates in accordance with client contracts and internal standards.
* Ensure ingested data complies with audit and client requirements.
* Troubleshoot and resolve rate discrepancies or system issues in collaboration with carriers, clients, and rate loaders.
* Perform audit duties for assigned accounts, including reviewing claims utilization, identifying anomalies, and supporting resolution efforts.
* Collaborate with client management to ensure alignment on expectations and resolve audit issues.
* Maintain clear documentation of rate setups, test results, and audit findings.
* Contribute to the refinement of client documentation, ensuring transparency and best practices.
* Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in audit-related workflows.
* Serve as a change agent for underperforming audit areas by:
o Diagnosing root causes of KPI failures.
o Developing and executing corrective action plans.
o Ensuring accountability for audit commitments.
o Escalating unresolved issues for further action.
* Build strategic internal and external relationships through accurate audits and transparent communication.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including Audit, Global Solutions, and IT.
* Participate in pre-defined projects related to rating and audit.
* Any other task as assigned.
Position Requirements
* 3–5 years of experience in interpreting rates across multiple transportation modes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to understand and adapt to complex databases, available fields, processes, and applications.
* Understanding of both paper and EDI processes.
* Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
* Strong communication skills, especially in explaining complex rating scenarios.
* Demonstrated critical thinking and proactive problem-solving.
* Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
* Must be able to work 40 hours a week and accommodate some off-schedule meetings.
