* Autonomous Research in the area of sustainable materials, renewable resources and green chemistry
* Development of innovative recycling strategies for bio-based materials including thermoplastics and thermosets
* The design of novel bio-based polymers and materials via an innovative molecular approach
* Characterization of polymers and materials using equipment available in the laboratories and in cooperation with external academic and industrial partners
* Lignin chemistry and catalytic transformation, including analysis
* Catalytic transformation of renewable platform chemicals and building blocks by atom-economic transformations, for the development of novel, recyclable materials and polymers
* Preparation and writing of high-impact scientific publications as part of a team
* Co-supervision of PhD students, daily guidance of scientific teams in the area of sustainable materials
* Cooperation within the ‘Institute for Chemistry’ (University of Graz), Graz Technological University (TU Graz) as well as national/international collaborations with academic/industry partners
* Potential involvement in writing internationally competitive research proposals
* Organizational and administrative duties including acquisition and maintenance of laboratory equipment
* Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations
* Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
Your Responsibilities

Your Profile
* Completed doctorate/PhD in Chemistry or related areas
* Strong background in materials chemistry, renewable resources and the development of novel recyclable polymers
* Excellent knowledge of synthetic organic or inorganic chemistry, and in the development of novel catalytic systems, with special focus on applications in polymer chemistry
* Demonstrated experience in NMR spectroscopy and hands on experience with multiple analytical and separation techniques related to polymers and materials as well as renewable resources and derived product streams
* Relevant and strong publication record, with articles in high-impact journals
* Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
* Strong interpersonal skills to promote teamwork, effective problem-solving, decisive action, and goal achievement
* Proven ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly, as demonstrated through presentations at international conferences
* Broad interdisciplinary knowledge coupled with an innovative scientific approach
* Drive to excel in a scientific research and teaching career
* Globally informed perspective from extensive international training at leading institutions
* Strong project planning and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69,060.59 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
