Following the establishment of a new European holding company in Austria, our EMEA-wide Finance team is looking for an accountant to be located in our office in Vienna. The position will be working closely with our local Finance Manager on overall accounting activities for both the new entity and our existing company in Austria. Tasks may extend to more complex accounting, taxation, budgeting, forecasting and payroll plus ensuring accuracy and compliance with local statutory, legal and tax requirements.
Accounting
Registration and processing of AP invoices
Administration and point of contact for on-line banking systems
Cash management, bank reconciliations and cashflow preparation
Process monthly journals including prepayments, accruals, and payroll
Maintain fixed asset register including additions, disposals, and depreciation
Monthly reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
Comparisons with budget
Preparation of closing monthly accounts and reporting for the group in English.
Preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaison with auditors and external advisors.
Taxation
Production and submission of VAT returns, EC sales list and Intrastat returns
Corporate tax return preparation
Payroll
Liaison with external payroll provider and checking of payroll.
Management of permanent staff entry / exit
Monitoring of all social declarations and compliance with social laws
Administrative support
Handle issues arising from administration of the Austrian office
To be a qualified and experienced accountant
IFRS / AT GAAP knowledge
Have experience with accounting systems and reporting (including Excel features)
To be a hands-on, structured, and methodical team player with supportive attitude
Experienced from smaller company with broader agenda in multi-currency environment
Able to work under minimum supervision
To have a fluent German is an advantage and communicative English is a must
Interest and capability to progress the role in the future
Knowledge and experience of SAP Business One is an advantage but not essential

The salary package ranges between 60,000 and 80,000 EUR OTE per annum, depending on skills and experience, with a 90/10 split between base and variable compensation.
