The role
This is a Commercial Development Manager role with a clear growth path into stronger commerical ownership over time.
You start with full portfolio exposure and structured onboarding, then move into a sales enablement and commercial development role focused on strengthening discovery, qualification, business case development, and rollout on active opportunities across MMV’s portfolio.
The role involves direct collaboration with founders and C‑level stakeholders of tech companies, as well as engagement with MMV’s network of senior executives and venture partners to develop and progress commercial opportunities.
This is not a senior sales hire expected to independently own strategic accounts from day one. It is designed as a development path: from sales enablement, to broader commercial ownership, and ultimately to direct sales responsibility within ~6 months.
Core responsibilities
* Support discovery and qualification on live opportunities across portfolio companies
* Work with senior sales team to improve deal quality, urgency, and progression
* Help structure and sharpen business cases for priority deals
* Support venture partners more actively, reducing senior leadership time spent on steering
* Drive rollout of proven opportunities into additional markets and accounts
* Identify repeatable commercial motions across portfolio companies and operator opportunities
* Translate customer pain and use cases into C‑level materials and sales assets: executive decks, one‑pagers, and supporting visuals
* Grow over time into direct relationship building and selected account ownership
* Drive AI adoption in day‑to‑day work and beyond: identify improvement areas, test and apply new tools, and contribute to building MMV’s AI‑native way of working while continuously increasing applied AI capabilities
Who we’re looking for
Must-have
* 1–3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, sales, consulting, account management, or go‑to‑market roles
* Strong business fundamentals and structured thinking
* Strong commercial instinct and clear sales potential
* High initiative and ownership mindset
* Ability to understand customer pain and translate it into commercial action
* Strong communication, presentation, and commercial storytelling skills
* International mindset based on exposure to different markets or environments
* Advanced PowerPoint skills, Canva (or similar), and familiarity with AI tools for content and visual creation
* Fluency in English
* Experience with B2B tech, telecom, or SaaS environments
* Exposure to discovery, qualification, or pipeline work in a commercial setting
* German and/or other languages (Spanish, French, Italian specifically)

Compensation
€45,000 base salary + performance‑based bonus tied to commercial impact
