Followmont Transport is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Accounts Payable team at our Eagle Farm Head Office. This role oversees the end‑to‑end Accounts Payable function and plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely processing and strong relationships with our internal stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors and agents.

About the Role
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the AP function, ensuring invoices, expenses and payments are processed efficiently and in line with deadlines. You will coach, develop and support the AP team while maintaining structured processes, strong internal controls and exceptional service standards.
You will also act as the subject matter expert for AP systems and processes, driving improvements and ensuring accuracy and compliance across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
* Lead, mentor and support the Accounts Payable team to ensure all daily tasks are completed accurately and on time
* Provide ongoing training, guidance and clear expectations to drive performance and development
* Promote accountability, engagement and continuous improvement within the team
* Ensure alignment with business strategy and broader Finance team objectives
Accounts Payable Operations
* Oversee weekly and monthly invoice processing and vendor payments, ensuring they are delivered in full, on time and to a high standard
* Manage subcontractor and agent payments
* Maintain accurate vendor master data and ensure monthly statement reconciliations
* Ensure compliance with purchasing, procurement and accounting policies
* Manage accruals related to freight and AP‑linked costs
* Act as SME for AP systems (including Ezescan), identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and training stakeholders in system use
Customer Relations and Service
* Maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
* Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries
* Resolve escalated vendor issues while upholding Followmont’s service values
* Provide exceptional support to both internal teams and external vendors
Reporting and Projects
* Prepare regular AP reports and monthly KPI updates for Finance Leadership
* Contribute to AP‑related projects, process improvements and wider Finance initiatives
* Participate in team meetings, change activities and continuous improvement efforts
Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience leading an Accounts Payable or similar function within transport, FMCG, manufacturing, warehousing or other high‑volume environments
* Strong leadership capability, with a focus on coaching and accountability
* Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to timely task completion
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Good IT capability, particularly across Microsoft Office, with confidence learning new systems
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* A process‑driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in fast‑paced environments
* A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting or similar (highly regarded)
