Steam Services Audit (Connected) Engineer

We are seeking a driven and forward-thinking Steam Services Audit (Connected) Engineer to join the ANZ Digital team. This role plays a key part in delivering our digital solutions to our customers, providing actionable insight and data-driven solutions that enhance steam system performance for our customers across ANZ.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Expert Insight and Steam System Optimisation
* Conduct detailed analysis of customer steam systems, providing high-impact insights that drive performance, reliability and energy optimisation
* Develop and present expert recommendations using data from digital systems to internal and external stakeholders, including customers, industry partners, and our sales and service teams
* Define and implement the “Gold Standard” for steam system optimisation – creating robust processes, reporting templates, and solution models
* Translate complex data into meaningful reports that identify opportunities for operational improvement and sustainable self‑gen growth
2. Enable the “Walk the Data” Business Model
* Train and equip ANZ sales and service teams with the tools, templates, and skills required to deliver customer insights using the “Walk the Data” model
* Build sales and service team capabilities through hands‑on support, coaching and the creation of practical learning resources
* Ensure the consistent application of best practices in customer‑facing reporting and insights delivery
3. Support Digital Implementation and Solution Development
* Collaborate with the Digital Product and Business Development teams to design scalable, repeatable connected steam system solutions aligned to customer value propositions (CVPs).
* Assist with pre‑and post‑sales activities, including scoping, proposal development, and on‑site solution deployment.
* Lead or support onsite installation and commissioning of connected digital equipment as needed.
4. Drive Data Analytics and Innovation
* Apply advanced analytics techniques—including data visualisation, regression, statistical modelling, and probabilistic analysis—to detect and predict steam system performance issues.
* Develop and communicate models and dashboards that simplify complex data, enabling actionable insights for both novice and expert users.
* Integrate and transform large, disparate datasets into unified systems that support real‑time and historical performance monitoring.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Act as the subject matter expert and thought leader in steam systems digitalisation across the ANZ region
* Work with Divisional audit and service engineers to codify expert knowledge into scalable, algorithm‑based insights
* Collaborate across‑functionally support the development of the Connected Services roadmap, bringing forward new ideas, technologies, and tools to improve effectiveness and scalability
* Serve as a flexible resource to support IoT technician activities where needed, supporting configuration of IoT devices on customer sites including the preparation of equipment prior to installation.
Must‑Haves
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering role related to industrial systems, plant/process optimisation, or energy/steam systems
* Practical experience working with steam systems and components (e.g., traps, valves, meters, boilers).
* Proven experience in data‑driven analysis, diagnostic reporting, or connected system optimisation.
* Hands‑on exposure to digital/IoT equipment installation, commissioning, or support.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex system data and translate
