We're looking for a Graphic Design Lead to shape Journi's visual identity and guide our talented 3-person Graphic Design team. You’ll balance creative direction with hands-on design, ensuring every creative asset we produce is on-brand, impactful, and inspiring.
This is an exciting time to join - Journi is refreshing its brand, and we need a creative leader to bring our new look to life across CRM, social, user acquisition, employer branding, partnerships, and beyond.
Your Bag of Tricks
* 2+ years of people management experience
* 5+ years in graphic design
* Player-coach mentality: you can guide, empower, and inspire your team while providing individual contribution when necessary.
* Ability to switch between strategic and executional mindset: you are responsible for the overall design delivery framework and able to put necessary processes in place, but also accountable for the details and nuances when it comes to creative excellence.
* Strong professional portfolio demonstrating high-quality visual storytelling across digital and print platforms
* Sharp eye for the latest visual trends
* Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
* You are eligible to work in the EU/Austria.
* You are able to relocate to / based in Vienna - the world’s most liveable city!

What You’ll Do
* Work full-time (38.5 h/week) as part of the Marketing department, reporting into Head of Brand and Communications.
* Lead and mentor a team of 3 Graphic Designers. Ensure each team member gets to contribute according to their strengths, grow in the areas of their interest, and produce on-brand output in the most effective way.
* Hold the overall accountability over the visual output: commit to the delivery plan, assign resources, align on the production schedules, take charge of creative ideation, and advise on the best way to execute each creative idea.
* Be the go-to creative eye - providing feedback, sparking ideas, and ensuring brand consistency.
* Take our new Brand Guidelines for a spin! Explore bold ideas, then set the standard for how we roll them out.
* Collaborate and proactively align with Product, Growth, User Acquisition, CRM, HR to deliver assets that hit both creative and business goals.
* Improve workflows when necessary, and keep design resources well-documented and accessible.
* Stay ahead of the curve by testing new tools (AI, design software, etc.) and bringing in best practices from other leading global apps.
Who You Are
NICE TO HAVE
* Previous experience in a globally oriented startup, a creative or design agency, an internal Brand Studio
* Previous experience with external roll-out for a new brand
* Hands-on experience with various creative asset management tools
* Familiarity with the latest AI creative tools
