JOB TITLE: RTI Intervention Specialist
LOCATION: Steger Primary Center, Steger Intermediate Center, Columbia Central School

JOB SUMMARY:
The RTI Interventionist provides support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the assessment of at-risk students' needs for Response to Intervention (RTI) services; implementing the RTI program strategies; monitoring and reporting student performance; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provides instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities
* Assists students, individually or in small groups, for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing intervention strategies.
* Ability to analyze benchmarking and progress monitoring data.
* Collaborates with instructional staff, professional support personnel, and parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating needs for and progress of RTI intervention strategies.
* Communicates with RTI coordinator, parents and teachers via emails, phone calls, in person meetings, etc. for the purpose of advising them of progress or providing information on needed follow-up services.
* Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and integrating RTI intervention strategies.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: The role requires frequent walking and standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non-traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization-sponsored events and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
* Bachelor’s in Education
* Thorough knowledge of Response to Intervention
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a building level team
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL: Professional Educator License (PEL) with thorough knowledge of Response to Intervention.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: All terms of employment are outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Steger Education Association.
EVALUATION: The performance of this role is evaluated according to the Board's policy on evaluating professional personnel.
