To expand our team at the Linz site, we are looking for you as Senior Embedded Electronics HW Design Engineer (f/m/d/x)
What are my responsibilities?
General responsibilities
1. Collaboration in concept creation and system design of electronic and electromechanical assemblies/systems/interfaces
2. Analysis of requirements
3. Product development: electronic circuit design (schematics) PCB/PCBA layout design Wiring harnesso component specification
4. Support to specify the HW / SW interfaces and creation of technical requirements/specifications
5. Support to create test concepts for PCB/PCBA validation (durability, EMC/EMI, stress testing, etc.) and serial production (quality assurance)
6. Collaboration with internal and external development partners
7. Technical contact with suppliers, production sites
8. Technical support for the construction, commissioning and testing of prototypes and verification measurements of electronics assemblies and devices
9. Development processes and documentation in accordance with relevant regulatory provisions
Key Responsibilities
10. Design, develop, and validate embedded hardware systems based on microcontrollers, DSPs, and communication interfaces Perform schematic design and PCB/PCBA layoutdesign by using Altium Designer (experience with other EDA tools is a plus) Develop and integrate communication electronics UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, LIN, NFC, Ethernet, IO-Link, industrial fieldbuses such as ProfiNet, EtherCAT, Modbus, wireless) Conduct electronics simulation and analysis (analog, digital, power, and signal integrity) Define and implement hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging procedures Collaborate with firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware–software integration Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IPC, UL, EMC/EMI, safety, reliability, automotive/industrial if applicable) Support prototype assembly, verification, and validation through PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes Contribute to documentation, design reviews, and continuous product improvement
What do I need to qualify for this job?
11. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
12. 5+ years of professional experience in embedded hardware development
13. Proficiency in schematics design and PCB/PCBA design with Altium Designer
14. Strong knowledge of microcontroller-based system design, including power supplies
15. Experience in circuit simulation tools LTSpice, PSpice, Multisim, MATLAB/Simulink)
16. Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design (op-amps, ADC/DAC, filters, power regulation)
17. Proven expertise in EMI/EMC design techniques and compliance-oriented hardware design
18. Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing processes (DFM/DFT, BOM preparation, assembly constraints, test strategy)
19. Practical debugging experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other lab equipment
20. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize hardware designs for performance, cost, and reliability
21. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teams
22. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English (at least B2 level)
