Audio and Video Engineer – Safety‑Critical Infrastructure (all genders)

The Audio and Video Competence Centre within Frequentis Hardware & Embedded Technologies ensures reliable audio and video quality across the company’s safety‑critical communication systems. This responsibility requires accuracy, thoroughness, and solid technical expertise. Our scope of work ranges from evaluating new hardware and software technologies and products for use in our solutions to supporting customers with complex audio and video issues across all Frequentis business domains.
Key Tasks
* Selection, evaluation, and qualification of new hardware and software technologies as well as market‑available products (e‑g, headsets and audio devices) for use in safety‑critical systems
* Execution of audio and video quality measurements in the Frequentis Audio Lab as part of product and project development
* Support for product teams, projects, and customers in addressing complex audio and video issues across all Frequentis business domains
* Collaboration with suppliers and occasional travel to partners and customers (2‑3 times per year)
Key Qualifications
* Completed technical education or degree with a focus on audio and/or video, telecommunications, or a related field
* Experience with IP‑based audio and/or video transmission, including packetization and encoding methods (e‑g, SIP, RTP)
* Hands‑on experience with audio/video‑specific test and measurement equipment as well as relevant quality standards
* Basic knowledge of embedded hardware and electronic circuitry
* Advantageous: knowledge in electroacoustics (loudspeakers/microphones) and digital audio/video signal processing
* Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
