Competitor Benchmarking Specialist Nonwovens (P/T - 50%, limited period of 2 years)
Position
Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:
The role requires senior-level expertise in competitive benchmarking of nonwoven fibers and related materials. It entails leading cross‑functional evaluation and interpretation of competitor products, translating insights into strategic actions in close collaboration with Product Management, Innovation, and Business Development/Sales. The position serves as the organizational lead and key reference point for all nonwoven fiber and competitive materials benchmarking topics.
You will be responsible for the competitor benchmarking process from planning and acquisition of samples over testing and results evaluation.
You will be accountable for the tracing and documentation of the analysis results.
You will organize and lead the team’s discussion forum for NW fibers (on demand), and you document and condense the results.
You will support the professional assessment of the overall results and reporting, including Power BI maintenance.
You will exchange information with relevant departments on a regular basis.
You will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Competitor Benchmarking System according to internal requirements.
Our expectations for this exciting role:
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Natural Science or a related field.
You have 5+ years of experience in technical and market expertise related to the production, processing, and end‑use applications of cellulose or cellulose‑derived NW products.
You possess excellent communication skills and can present technical evaluations and translate insights into value propositions in English (C1),German language skills would be an advantage.
You demonstrate strong analytical and statistical skills (with experience in experimental design and structured evaluation methodologies), with advanced Power BI reporting expertise and solid IT proficiency.
You bring proven experience in quality‑focused competitor benchmarking and in developing a shared understanding of competitor performance in the NW field.
You ideally have hands‑on experience with fiber property measurements, including EDANA test methods.
You apply project management skills and a strategic mindset to drive structured execution and informed decision‑making.
Please note: This position is offered on a 50% part-time basis (19 hours per week) for a limited period of 2 years

The monthly gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week minimum EUR 4.300.- with a willingness to overpay – depending on qualifications and experience.
