The Medical University of Vienna is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in Glycobiology and Cancer Research, with collaborative opportunities at Nagoya University, Japan. The project aims to investigate alterations in glycan structures during cancer progression and the influence of glycosylation programs in mammary gland development, breast cancer, and infant health. Research will utilize organoid models, single-cell RNA sequencing, glycoproteomics, and mouse models.
Requirements
– Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline
– Demonstrated interest in glycobiology, cancer biology, and interdisciplinary research
– Laboratory experience in cell culture (experience with mouse/organoids; mass spectrometry skills are advantageous)
– Strong motivation, teamwork skills, and scientific curiosity
