At Designer Group, we’re growing fast — and we’re looking for ambitious people to grow with us.
As part of our continued expansion across Europe, we’re hiring a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team in Vienna and help deliver a major data centre project.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality project execution across all mechanical packages — with a strong focus on safety, compliance, quality control, and programme delivery. You’ll play a key part in coordinating subcontractors, managing site teams, and driving progress in line with commercial targets.
This is an opportunity to join one of Europe’s fastest-growing MEP contractors, working on world-class engineering projects with some of the biggest names in tech.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage the Site Diary and lead daily DABS meetings
* Act as a key point of contact with clients and stakeholders
* Oversee and sequence installation activities across mechanical services
* Prepare risk assessments and method statements
* Monitor plant/materials quality and safe storage
* Ensure all works comply with local building and safety regulations
Planning & Commercials
* Manage procurement of subcontractors, equipment, and suppliers
* Support costings, monthly valuations, and changes to scope
* Track programme progress through look-aheads and workforce planning
* Set and uphold high quality standards on-site
* Monitor subcontractor performance and drive issue resolution
* Lead commissioning activities and ensure timely closeout
* Promote a safety-first culture on-site
* Drive continuous improvement through weekly observations
* Maintain site housekeeping and compliance with HSE standards
What You’ll Bring
* 5+ years’ experience in mechanical construction within the MEP sector
* Strong understanding of HVAC systems, safety compliance, and commissioning
* A hands-on, proactive leadership style with the ability to spot and solve issues early
* Strong communication and coordination skills
* Fluent English; German is a strong advantage
