A leading international contractor is seeking a Commercial Manager to join their growing operations in Austria, supporting the delivery of major industrial, logistics, and mission critical construction projects across Portugal and the wider Iberian market.
As part of a commercial team responsible for high-value, fast-track developments, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial lifecycle of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the financial and commercial management of multiple large-scale construction schemes.
* Manage subcontractor procurement, tender reviews, and contract negotiation.
* Lead monthly commercial reporting, forecasting, and cost/value reconciliations.
* Support contract administration, change control, and risk management processes.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and delivery teams.
* Assist in developing project budgets and ensuring robust cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Work closely with the site and project management teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with commercial expectations.
* Contribute to the company’s growth in the Portuguese market by supporting strategic bids and long‑term frameworks.
Candidate Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS on large-scale construction projects.
* Background working with a main contractor, ideally in industrial, logistics, or mission critical sectors.
* Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge (e.g. FIDIC, NEC or local Portuguese forms).
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
* English language proficiency essential; Portuguese and/or Spanish beneficial.
