This is a hands‑on, single‑person IT role, ideally suited to someone who thrives in a self‑directed environment, enjoys broad responsibility, and is motivated to continuously expand their technical capabilities—particularly in the rapidly evolving domain of AI and automation. You will be responsible for managing an Office 365 environment, maintaining the IT infrastructure, supporting staff across the group, and driving modernisation initiatives. This role offers substantial autonomy and the opportunity to shape the company’s technology roadmap. Other key responsibilities will include:

* Manage, maintain, and optimise the Microsoft Office 365 environment (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Azure AD, Intune, security & compliance).
* Oversee system administration, access control, device management, and user onboarding/offboarding.
* Provide day‑to‑day hardware and software support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
* Manage troubleshooting, incident resolution, and escalation as needed.
Infrastructure, Security & Governance
* Oversee networks, firewalls, VPNs, backups, disaster recovery, and cloud infrastructure.
* Maintain cybersecurity posture across the organisation; monitor and respond to security alerts.
* Proactively identify and mitigate IT risks; maintain policies, documentation, and compliance with relevant standards.
* Manage relationships with external vendors, MSPs, and security providers where applicable.
Technology Strategy & Project Delivery
* Develop and implement a fit‑for‑purpose IT roadmap aligned with business needs.
* Lead small‑to‑medium technical projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
* Evaluate new technologies and tools to support business efficiency and innovation.
* Provide guidance to leadership on technology decisions, risks, and opportunities.
AI, Automation & Innovation
* Identify opportunities to improve processes using AI, automation, and modern workplace tools.
* Experiment with emerging technologies and implement practical, secure solutions.
* Support the organisation’s broader digital transformation and innovation agenda.
Your Traits
To be successful in this role, you will be an IT Manager with a track record of effective and “hands on” contributions within team environments to drive strategy and business success. Ideally you will have a background supporting organisations with diverse operations (e.g., hospitality, asset management, aviation, property). Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating IT contracts is essential along with generalist capabilities across networking, on‑prem and cloud systems, security tools, device management, and end‑user support. You will thrive working in a standalone or small‑team IT environment and have strong expertise in Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem including administration, configuration, and troubleshooting. Finally, you will be able to influence key stakeholders with excellent written/verbal communication skills to communicate technical information and terminology at user levels.
