Senior Manager, Cyber Security at Bitpanda

Your mission
As Head of Security you will lead our Security organization, composed of Security Operations, Cloud Security, Product Security, and Security Engineering. You will define a unified security strategy that protects the platform, customers, and data while enabling agility and growth.
What you'll do
* Lead the Security Organization: Oversee and mentor teams across Security Operations, Cloud Security, Product Security, and Security Engineering. Build a cohesive, high‑performing security culture and a company‑wide vision.
* Drive cross‑functional collaboration: Serve as the bridge between security and Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and IT to integrate security into design, development, and operations.
* Oversee Security Operations: Ensure effective threat detection, response and prevention across IT Security, monitoring, incident response and awareness. Guide continuous improvement of the cloud‑native infrastructure and products.
* Ensure regulatory and audit readiness: Maintain alignment with frameworks such as DORA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, CIS, and support audits. Communicate progress to exec leadership.
* Empower and grow talent: Develop the leaders within the organization and foster cross‑team knowledge sharing.
Who you are
* 8+ years of experience in information or cyber security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multiple security functions.
* Deep understanding of cloud, product and operational security and familiarity with risk management & compliance frameworks (DORA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management and decision‑making skills for both technical and executive audiences.
* Strategic mindset with a bias for action, balancing innovation enablement and risk reduction.
* Strong leadership skills focusing on alignment, collaboration and people development.
