Responsibilities
* Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the area Analytical Chemistry
* Participation in current research tasks and projects
* Collaboration with research and industry partners
* Writing scientific publications
* Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks of the institute/center
* Supervision of students
* Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
Your Profile / Qualifications
* Completed master’s degree in Natural Sciences
* Knowledge in at least one of the following topics: Elemental mass spectrometry, Working with biological samples, Analytical chemistry
* Practical experience in elemental analysis is mandatory
* Practical experience in interdisciplinary research is mandatory
* Desire to learn new approaches and methodologies
* Basic knowledge in literature research in relevant databases
* Experience in publishing scientific communications is mandatory
* Advanced English skills
* Independent way of working
* Strong teamwork and organizational skills
* Analytical thinking and good communicative skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,007.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit
We are looking for an ambitious PhD candidate to work in the field of instrumental analytical chemistry. The main focus is on the development of biomapping of fluorine and PFAS using laser ablation and F-speciation. This will require instrument and method development into ICPMS. The candidate will work in a dynamic research environment and good communications skills, critical thinking as well as an eager interest for interdisciplinary research are expected.
