BRANCH HEAD OPS AND EXERCISE OMC Post Context Allied Maritime Command is the Maritime Theatre Component Commander delivering 360 degree maritime focussed awareness and connectivity while planning and commanding the full range of maritime operations. The Support Directorate directs the delivery of operational support functions and activities. The N6 Cyberspace Division is responsible for advising the Command Group (CG) on matters relating to Communications and Information Systems (CIS) in support of Command & Control (C2) for maritime operations, exercises and training as well as Cyberspace related issues. The Policy and Operations Branch is responsible for planning, coordination and support of NATO Joint maritime Operations with regards to Communications and Information Systems (CIS) aspects. Within the CIS Policy and Operations branch the incumbent acts as the focal point for all maritime CIS Operations and planning matters in the CIS Division. Principal Duties The incumbent's duties are: OPERATIONAL DUTIES : Responsible for all aspects of N6 involvement in current and future operations, CIS maritime operational planning,, maritime CIS Policy and Concepts Integrated into the MBS Maritime Battle Staff as Staff officer CIS : Provides CIS advice as part of the MBS. Integrates SME advice. Develops the CIS aspects of Operational Planning. Coordinates the CIS planning effort with other HQs, agencies (NCIA) and organizations (e.g. IO, NGO) as appropriate. Plans CIS solutions for non-NATO military and civil organizations. FRAMEWORK DUTIES: Coordinates CIS cooperation with other HQs and organizations (e.g. IO, NGO) as appropriate. Supervises and coordinates all CIS issues with non-NATO military and civil organizations as required, with a focus on interfacing different systems. Supervises frequency management with other HQs, Agencies, TF & specific units. Provides direction and guidance on the procurement and assignment of required radio frequencies and monitors UHF and SHF satellite allocations. Provide CIS manpower and knowledge for NATO evaluation programs. Supports NATO CIS doctrine development and NATO committees as directed by the Division Head. Submits observations in his/her area of expertise and contributes to the Lessons Learned process. Special Requirements and Additional Duties The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed. The incumbent is required to undertake operation deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and without NATO's boundaries. The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment / Secure office environment with artificial light and air (e.g. Bunker). Normal Working Conditions apply.
