About this role
The Chief Examination Supervisor is responsible for the overall conduct and administration of external and internal examinations, ensuring compliance with Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) policies and procedures. This role leads a team of supervisors and ensures a fair, secure, and supportive assessment environment for all students.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate examination supervisors during external and internal assessments.
* Ensure all exams are conducted in strict accordance with VCAA regulations.
* Prepare examination venues, materials, seating plans, and documentation.
* Deliver required examination announcements and centre messages verbatim.
* Monitor student attendance, late arrivals, incidents, and breaches of exam rules.
* Ensure compliance with Special Examination Arrangements.
* Manage emergencies, illness, student behaviour incidents, and evacuations as required.
* Oversee secure handling, storage, and return of all examination materials.
* Complete all required journals, reports, and documentation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Demonstrated understanding of VCAA policies and procedures for the conduct of examinations.
* Proven experience leading or coordinating staff in a regulated or high-stakes environment.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and unexpected situations.
* Commitment to assessment integrity, confidentiality, and student wellbeing.
* Current Working with Children Check.
* Previous experience as a Chief or Assistant Examination Supervisor is highly desirable.
* Must meet VCAA eligibility requirements (no conflicts of interest).
* Related to, or associated with, any student required to sit the GAT or any student undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study in 2026
* Teaching or tutoring any student required to sit the GAT or any student undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study in 2026
* Related to or associated with any person engaged in teaching, tutoring or coaching any students undertaking a VCE Unit 3 or 4 study, or any school personnel engaged in organising or checking VCE external assessment materials on behalf of the College in 2026
* Employed by the College in any other capacity, including as a teacher, casual relief teacher (CRT) or member of the administration staff in 2026
* Have taught Units 1-2 and/or Units 3-4 at Sirius College in the last two years
