Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled SAP Basis Administrator with at least 5 years of experience to ensure the optimal performance, stability, and reliability of our SAP landscape. The role reports to the IS Service Manager.
Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain SAP systems to ensure high availability and performance, including system optimization, upgrades, patches, and transport management.
* Continuously monitor systems, interfaces, and scheduled jobs, proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and ensure timely execution of critical batch jobs.
* Oversee database administration, backup and recovery processes, and infrastructure operations across environments including DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and HANA.
* Apply best practices in network design, security, virtualization, and infrastructure optimization to maintain a secure and efficient SAP environment.
* Support S/4HANA migration projects from planning through go‑live, including technical migrations, data transfer coordination, and post‑migration optimization.
* Monitor and manage SAP security to ensure compliance and protect against unauthorized access.
* Use SAP Solution Manager to support change management processes and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in global teams.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in SAP Basis system administration.
* Comprehensive understanding of SAP system architecture, administration, and operations.
* Proficiency in Unix and Windows operating systems.
* Experience with DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, HANA, and other relevant databases.
* Solid knowledge of database administration principles and best practices.
* In‑depth knowledge of SAP tools such as SAP NetWeaver, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP HANA Studio.
* Experience with S/4HANA systems and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, and understanding of hybrid cloud and on‑premise integration scenarios.
* Proficiency with backup and recovery tools and workflows.
* Skills in performance tuning and optimization of SAP systems.
* Proficiency in network security principles and protocols.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams.
* Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and managing relationships with external providers.
* ABAP programming knowledge is a welcome addition.
