Senior Firmware Engineer – Graz, Austria – Job ID: 48371
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled embedded software engineer to develop secure firmware platforms for low‑power IoT devices such as RFID readers, indoor location devices, and wearables. The role involves working with secure elements and a range of RF technologies, including BLE, NFC, UWB, Wi‑Fi and more.
Responsibilities
* Design and implement new secure embedded firmware applications in C.
* Prepare source‑code documentation and create clear, maintainable code.
* Participate in technical discussions and code reviews.
* Analyze and evaluate software requirements; collaborate with colleagues and customers to define product specifications.
* Assist in product design and architecture development.
* Proactively provide status updates, raise issues, and communicate necessary information to the team.
* Develop test fixtures in C and higher‑level object‑oriented languages such as C# or Python.
* Support the design and development of auxiliary desktop engineering tools.
Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in embedded software development on microcontrollers (ARM Cortex‑M, RISC‑V, etc.).
* Excellent programming and debugging skills in the C language.
* Experience with source‑code management, bug tracking, project planning and continuous integration tools.
* Assembly‑language knowledge.
* Knowledge of higher‑level languages such as C# or Python.
* Experience working with secure elements.
* Embedded RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, etc.).
* Proficiency in communication protocols (I2C, SPI, ISO7816/14443, NFC, BLE, etc.).
* Applied cryptography knowledge.
