This position reports to: Channel Manager
Your Role: Own the Challenge
As a Sales Engineer you will be responsible for selling innovative ABB products, systems and solutions in the Electrification business area within the region of Upper Austria. Reporting directly to the Channel Manager you will leverage your technical expertise and commercial acumen to develop long‑term customer relationships and provide tailored solutions that meet specific client needs. With your strong understanding of market trends and ABB’s portfolio you will play a key role in helping customers improve efficiency, enhance safety and comfort, and reduce environmental impact.
You consistently drive growth in sales volume and margin across the Electrification portfolio through targeted sales activities and deep market understanding.
You build and maintain long‑term customer relationships by providing excellent service and technical consultation, recognizing requirements at an early stage.
You prepare customized technical solutions and commercial offers in close cooperation with product management and internal departments ensuring all technical and financial aspects are covered.
You identify new market opportunities and support the development of effective sales and marketing strategies in collaboration with the broader sales team.
Qualifications
* Completed technical education in electrical engineering (HTL master craftsman certification or equivalent)
* Solid knowledge in electrification and building technology; experience with KNX or smart home systems is an advantage
* Several years of professional experience in technical sales or a related field preferred
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong customer orientation
* High willingness to travel within Austria, especially in the Upper Austria region
* Entrepreneurial mindset, strong negotiation skills and a precise, structured working style
* Proactive, well‑organized and self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
* Very good MS Office skills and a strong affinity for digital tools

In accordance with the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry in Austria the minimum salary for this position is 3.800 gross per month as of May 2025. There is a clear willingness to offer compensation above the collectively agreed minimum salary depending on qualifications and experience.
