From 1 December 2025 AIHW's organisational structure will change. The Corporate Strategy and Performance Division will be home to all AIHW corporate services. The Information and Communications Technology Group (ICTG) will be part of the Corporate Strategy and Performance Division.
The ICTG is looking for an EL1 Business Analyst to join the IT Business Development and Delivery Unit to lead our Solution Front Door. You will support the IT Unit Heads, business architect, solution architect and enterprise architect to align business activities with organisational goals by undertaking business analysis activities and work with a diverse group of business and technical experts to solve business problems.
The role includes managing new initiative requests via the solution front door and engaging with stakeholders, conducting detailed requirements analysis, documenting business processes, managing quality standards, and driving strategic actions to come up with solutions to business problems.
To succeed in this role, you should have an analytical way of thinking and be able to explain complex concepts to non-technical users. You will also need to possess excellent critical thinking skills, and ability to marshal expertise and knowledge across a diverse set of stakeholders to solve business problems.
Under limited direction, you will be responsible for:
* Providing expertise, leadership, and guidance to business units who seek expert input from ICT.
* Elicit, manage, and document requirements through stakeholder engagements such as meetings, workshops and working groups.
* Evaluate new initiatives and coordinate ICT responses and time and cost estimates for proposed work.
* Evaluate business processes, business service functions, uncover areas for improvement and optimisation, formulate solutions, and ensure solutions meet business needs, AIHW corporate goals and ICT enterprise strategic directions.
* Effectively communicate business insights to team members and management.
* Effectively manage work plans with consideration for competing resources and priorities.
* Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, and ICT Units in the Group.
* Support strategic initiatives to improve the business analysis capability.
* Contribute to peer review processes with other business analysts.
